Focus Comic Free Summer Camp : New Class

The next new Focus comic summer camp project will start September 14 and 28 2019 in Phoenix.

We will teach our students how to make halloween monsters using quality paper clay.

It will be a two part class. The class taking place this weekend will focus on hand building using clay. The class taking place on the 28th will focus on painting the clay monsters. The rationale for why the class has to be divided into two class dates, is because we need to fire the sculptures in the kiln before they can be painted. If we do not fire the clay sculptures, the clay monsters will crumble.

Registration is now open for this new class.

The duration of the class will be approximately an hour depending on the student’s pace of work.

Douglas Hebert, Professional Sculptor; Head artist and art internship coach for Focus comic will be teaching with Yvonne Wan, creator of Focus comic. Yvonne is also an award winning artist to. Elisha Perry will be joining us as our Teacher Intern this week. We look forward to having her join us.

All art materials will be supplied free of charge to students with autism. The firing of the projects and glazing will be free to. Complimentary drinks and snacks will be included.

Class starts at 1pm.

Completed projects will be photographed professionally in a photo booth so the kids can be proud of their art. Free photography and filming of the class will be provided courtesy of Yvonne Wan, the sole creator of Focus comic.

Autistic kids attending the art camp for the first time will receive a special gift bag upon completion of their first project.
