We are proud to announce that we are now officially releasing all 16 covers (1 main cover and 15 variant covers) of Focus Comic for online purchase.
This is variant cover O featuring Focus, an autistic hero. Line art and inks by Tabidi Elkhalil who is one of Focus interns with autism. He initially worked on a 4 panel story on the community page before Yvonne Wan and Douglas Hebert decided to promote him to work on the main comic. The comic comprises of art work by a community of artists and colorists. Tabidi is 22 years of age and loves to draw. Focus is seen here wearing a light bending suit which resembles a disco ball with cubist contours. The light bending suit manipulates light in many ways. Focus is completely human underneath and posses the power of precognition which is tied to his autism. Focus has an inbuilt visor which provides him with data. He is able to focus in on the data and calculate probabilities in his mind effectively due to his autism. Subsequently, the power of foresight gives him the ability to prevent bad things from happening as a hero.
In this picture, Focus is seen with his Secret Lineage team as they prepare to fight the evil spirits and zombies. Tabidi did a wonderful job with the line art and we are all very proud of him becoming one of the worlds first autistic comic book artists to work on a first issue and get 3 variant covers for the same title. We thank social cultural anthropologist Yvonne Wan and daily internship coach Douglas Hebert (certified art teacher) for coaching Tabidi daily to fulfill his creative potential. We also thank Office Depot for sponsoring the daily internship program and for helping Tabidi fulfill his dream of becoming one of the worlds first comic book artists who has autism. We also thank Jim Boswell for bringing Tabidi’s art to life with intricate colors and special effects. Jim enjoyed working on this cover for Tabidi. It is one of Tabidi’s more detailed drawings in the book, and so a lot of effort went into giving each component in this panel the attention to detail it deserves. It is a great cover, showing Focus working well as a team member and looking fearless against grave danger. Autism awareness is an issue that is close to Jim Boswell’s heart and he feels honored to have the opportunity to help Tabidi fulfill his creative potential and have his work celebrated by readers around the world.
